About Yara
Born in Brazil, the pianist Yara Borges grew up in a family where music is highly valued.
She graduated in piano from the Federal University of Paraíba (class JA Kaplan), obtained her diploma of concertista by the conservatory of Bern (class Michael Studer), and her Master's degree, with praise, in Musical Education - Piano Instrument by the University Martin- Luther, in Halle, Germany (class Marco Antonio de Almeida).
She performed with several musicians such as Rodrigo Botter Maio, Gabriel Rivano, João Bastos, Aldo Manhães Reis, Edson Beltrami, Myriam Hidber, Daniel Schnurrenberger, as well as with vocal ensembles TONanton (conductor Luiz Alves da Silva), the Philharmonic of The Chamber of Graubünden (conductor Daniel Jakobi) and the Symphonic Orchestra of Porto Alegre (conductor Eleazar de Carvalho), presentations in Switzerland, Brazil, Germany, Austria, Argentina, Croatia and Slovakia.
With the musician João Bastos, Yara formed Duo Bastos & Borges, who toured South East Asia in Singapore (Singapore Botanic Garden), Kuala Lumpur and Lummut (Malaysia), Hanoi (Vietnam) and Yangon (Myanmar).
Her repertoire includes classical and popular Brazilian and Argentine music, as well as works of classical European pianistic literature. Yara Borges is also a teacher. She taught for more than 20 years at the Toggenburg music school in the Canton of St Gallen, Switzerland. She currently teaches at the cantonal school in Wattwil.
Her professional practices are recorded in the book "Wie beurteile ich eine Klavierschule?" - a practical guide to piano lessons – released by Wißner Verlag, Augsburg, on Februar of 2020. Comments about it click on «Book».

Nascida no Brasil, a pianista Yara Borges cresceu em uma família onde a música é muito valorizada.
Bacharelou-se em piano, pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (classe J. A. Kaplan), obteve seu diploma de concertista pelo conservatório de Berna (classe Michael Studer), e seu Master’s degree, com louvor, em Educação Musical – Instrumento Piano pela Universidade Martin-Luther, em Halle, Alemanha (classe Marco Antonio de Almeida).
Apresentou-se com vários músicos como Rodrigo Botter Maio, Gabriel Rivano, João Bastos, Aldo Manhães Reis, Edson Beltrami, Myriam Hidber, Daniel Schnurrenberger, assim como com formações como o conjunto vocal TONanTON (maestro Luiz Alves da Silva), a Filarmônica da Câmara dos Graubünden (maestro Daniel Jakobi) e a Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre (maestro Eleazar de Carvalho), apresentações essas realizadas na Suíça, no Brasil, na Alemanha, na Áustria, na Argentina, na Croácia e na Eslováquia.
Com o músico João Bastos, Yara formou o Duo Bastos & Borges, que fez várias turnês no Sudeste Asiático em Cingapura (Jardim Botânico de Cingapura), Kuala Lumpur e Lummut (Malásia), Hanói (Vietnã) e Yangon (Mianmar).

Seu repertório inclui a música clássica e popular brasileira e argentina, assim como obras da literatura pianística clássica européia. Yara Borges é também professora.
Lecionou por mais de 20 anos na escola de música de Toggenburg, no Cantão de St Gallen, Suíça. Atualmente, ensina na escola cantonal de Wattwil. Suas práticas profissionais estão registradas no livro „Wie beurteile ich eine Klavierschule?“ – um guia prático para aulas de piano – lançado pela Wißner Verlag, Augsburg, em Fevereiro de 2020.
Über Yara
Die in Brasilien geborene Pianistin und Klavierpädagogin Yara Borges wuchs in einem Elternhaus auf, in dem Musik großgeschrieben wurde.
Nach ihrem Bachelor an der Staatlichen Universität (Klasse J. A. Kaplan) in Paraíba, Brasilien, erlangte sie am Konservatorium Bern (Klasse Michael Studer) das Konzertdiplom. Im Jahr 2001 schloss sie an der Martin-Luther-Universität in Halle ihren Master in Musikerziehung, Hauptfach Klavier (Klasse Marco Antônio de Almeida), mit Auszeichnung ab.
Die temperamentvolle Pianistin ist schon mit den verschiedensten Musikern aufgetreten wie Rodrigo Botter Maio, Aldo Manhães Reis, João Bastos, Gabriel Rivano, Edson Beltrami oder Daniel Schnurrenberger sowie mit Formationen wie dem Vokalensemble TONanTON (Dirigent: Luiz Alves da Silva), der Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden (Dirigent: Daniel Jakobi) oder der Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre (Dirigent: Eleazar de Carvalho) – in der Schweiz, Brasilien, Deutschland, Österreich, Argentinien, Kroatien und der Slowakei.
Mit dem Flötisten João Bastos gründete sie das Duo Bastos & Borges. Gemeinsam unternahmen sie mehrere Tourneen durch Südostasien mit Konzerten in Singapur (auch im Botanischen Garten von Singapur), Kuala Lumpur und Lummut (Malaysia), Hanoi (Vietnam) und Yangon (Myanmar).
Ihr Repertoire umfasst brasilianische, argentinische und klassische Musik.
Über zwanzig Jahre lang hat Yara Borges an der Musikschule Toggenburg in Wattwil im Kanton St. Gallen unterrichtet. Derzeit ist sie an der Kantonsschule Wattwil tätig. Ihr Buch „Wie beurteile ich eine Klavierschule?“, ein praktischer Leitfaden für den Klavierunterricht, erschien im Februar 2020 im Wißner Verlag, Augsburg.
